Fredrick W. TRAEGER married Catharine Elizabeth SHOAF in or near Kenton, Hardin Co., Oh on 25 Nov 1847. They subsequently moved to Sauk Co., Wi, where most of their children were born, but moved back to Hardin Co., about 1860, apparently missed by the census. Two children, Johann Heinrich and Maria Elizabeth were born to them in 1861 and 1864 respectively, before Catherine died on 18 August 1864. Her in-laws, J H August TRAEGER d. 1862, and Marie E. TRAEGER, d. 1864, are buried in Old Cessna Cemetery. I need to know more about Catherine, especially her family and her origins. Is she buried in Old Cessna Cemetery where her in-law TRAEGERS are buried, or elsewhere? Fredrick was also known as F. William TRAEGER and as Will. Her name is spelled SCHAAF or SCHOAF in a hand-written note extracted from a long lost TRAEGER family Bible, but SHOAF in the Hardin Co., Oh marriage book, Vol I, pg 202.

I need SHOAF family information. Gggrandfather, Fredrick Wilhelm TRAEGER married Catharine Elizabeth SHOAF in Hardin Co. 25 Nov 1847. I am seeking information regarding her parents, family. Two other SHOAFS married in Hardin Co., at about the same time. Maria SHOAF married George PAULEY on 7 Sep 1848, and Daniel SHOAF married Eliza HOUZER on 9 Oct 1848. Does anyone know anything about any of these SHOAFS. Are they from the same family, and are parents known for any one of them?

I am looking for information about the family of Charles WENDT, b.July 1850 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Oh. Charles WENDT is listed in the "History of Hardin Co., Ohio, 1883", as the owner of the Bee Hive Cash Grocery in Kenton, Oh. Charles was the son of Frederick WENDT, b.1811 Germany and Verena (Fanny) WARTH, b.1815 Switzerland. The WENDT family lived in Cincinnati, Oh and Newport, Campbell, KY. Charles WENDT was married to Ellen MARR RHODES, dau. of Wm. and Mary S. RHODES from Albion, N.Y., in Jan. 1880. Charles WENDT could also have had a brother, William WENDT, living in Hardin Co., Oh around 1915. Charles WENDT was the nephew of my gr.-gr.-grandmother, Catherine WARTH CONOVER of Terre Haute, Vigo, In.

I am looking for information on my g-g-grandgather William W. GRUBB and his family who resided in Hardin county in the area of Dudley for some amount of time in the 1870's and 1880's. it shows them in the 1880 Census for Hardin County. What I am specifically interested in is the birth of two of the children of the family Stephn GRUBB and Farragut GRUBB. These births cannot be documented in Madison County Ohio where the family came from and returned to following their stay in Hardin County. William W. GRUBB was a farm hand or laborer who served in both the US Navy and the US Army during the Civil War. He was orginally from Philidelphia Pennsylvania and migrated here after the war in 1867. He married Emmeline HOLLOWAY and they had 4 or 5 children all of whom lived. The family returned to Madison County Ohio and lived near Big Plain in Fairfield township until after the death of both Emmeline and William. Any info would be helpful. Please contact me at the abouve email. Thanks, Jeanne Dumond
