Seeking information on Wilford CHESHER (b. 1841)and wife Harriet (b. 1839)and son Oliver CHESHER (B. 1875). In the 1880 Hardin Co. census, two "sons" are also named, John E. HOWEL (b. 1860)and Isreal HOWEL (b. 1861). I suspect that they are sons of Harriet from a former marriage.

I am doing research on the KERR/SIMS side of my family. William KERR was born 20 June 1822 and married Rebecca SIMS 12 Aug 1852. Rebecca was born on 11 Oct 1830. I am trying to find their parents. I have suspicion that William James parents are James and Jane (ADAMS) KERR. I have not proved this yet. the 1830 census shows Jane KERR and all the children match the female/male age ranges. I do not know anything about Rebecca SIMS. One source says she was born in Ohio another says Mifflin County Pa. If anyone can help I sure would apreciate it! Shellie

I'm seeking info on Christopher JACOBS (1848-1910)and his wife, Emma Jane MILLER (1853-1943) who were married on 15 Dec 1870 in Wyandot Co., Oh. They moved to Missaukee Co., MI in late 1800s and lived near Lake City. Christopher d. in Cadillac, Wexford Co., MI in 1910 and Emma re-married to Burton CLAPP in Traverse City, Grand Traverse Co., MI where she died. I am looking for more info on both of their parents and any sibs, if possible. On Christopher's death cert. it gives his father as John JACOBS (of which there were many in this time period in Oh) and Lucy DUCET, both of Oh. On Emma's death cert. it says her parents were John MILLER and Elizabeth CEMRY. I believe the Cemry to be a spelling error by the clerk, as I have NEVER found this surname anyplace (and believe me I've looked). A Kammerer researcher I contacted says it may have been KAMMERER, CAMERY or KEMMERLY. Another researcher said to try KRAMER. I know there were KEMMERLYs in this area, so I'm opting to contact anyone researching that name, too. They may have been of German descent, and there's a strong Native American line, too, according to family tradition. With the name DUCET, possibly French-Canadian or Metis. Dad said the old folks in the family said they were descended from "the same tribe as the Indian Chief Pontiac", who knows?? Any help greatly appreciated.
