I have been doing research on my family (REAM) and I have found the following; My Father (Franklin Garfield REAM) was born in Ada on 8/21/1881. My Grandfather (Benjamin Franklin REAM (9/4/1840 - 11/12/1881) was a Miller by trade, and he and his father (My Great-Grandfather Joseph REAM) built the first steam mill in Ada in 1874. I know that my Great-Grandfather had a brother named Abraham and that Abraham had a street named after him in Ada. My Grandfather married Laura J. GILBERT date unknown. I also know that my Grandmother passed away prior to 1883 but I don't know the exact date. My Grandfather died from Typhoid Fever and this may be what she died from also. Hearsay that has been told to me is that my father was an orphan, but since I have researched the family there seems to be allot of REAM'S that were living in Ada at this time for this to happen. I have been in touch with lady from Ada by the name of Betty Miller that has given me the information I have, also I have records of birth and death of my Father and Grandfather respectively. I also know that my Grandfather and Grandmother had four children as follows: Nellie June 13,1870 Joseph December 18, 1871 Ora Edith January 4, 1879 Franklin Garfield August 21, 1881 I am still trying to locate any additional information on the family that would be available, such as are any of my Grandparents buried in Ada, and any history etc.. Can you give me any help on to where I should go from here? Thanks;

I am researching my gggrandparents, Jasper and Eliza Ann GIDDINGS CUTTING. Jasper was born c 1826 and was married to Eliza Ann GIDDINGS in Seneca (city or county?) Ohio on 9 Jan 1848. They appear in Rushcreek Township in the 1850 census along with two children, Leander and Linus. Jasper dies in Winfield, Ks 24 Mar 1886. His obituary states that he had been associated with the Christian Church for fifty years. Is it possible that he was once a member of a Logan County Christian Church in the 1840-1870 era? I realize you may not be the best contact for my question, but I would appreciate your giving me some guidance or passing on my note to someone who might be able to help. Thank you,

I know they had three children: Bertha, Ralph, and Cloyd b.1899. I would like any information on this family including how to obtain marriage and birth records and their cost. Dear Chuck, I discovered the wonderful Hardin County website recently, and wanted to give a big Thank You to you and the other people in Hardin County who contributed to the website. You have included so much good information on it, and it is a treasure for someone like me who depends on the internet to do research. My cousin, Susan BAILEY KELLEY and I have been researching the Bailey family history. Our great grandfather, Elliott BAILEY, was born in Hardin County in 1835, served in the Civil War with the 179th Ohio Infantry, and moved to Fulton County, Indiana around 1870. He died there in 1908. Susan and I are descended from Elliott, she from his first marriage to Martha EVANS, and me from his second marriage to Caroline ROTH. We would like to know more about the family before Elliott. Do you know any BAILEY descendents in Hardin County who are working on the BAILEY family history? We would like to contact them, if there are any. Do you know of any EVANS' or ROTHS', also? Also, we both want to join the Hardin Co. Genealogy Society. I printed off the pages from your website, and we plan to join soon. We also plan a trip to Kenton sometime this fall, to do research. Any ideas you have for us in regards to researching, (where to start, etc.) would be greatly appreciated. Our time would be limited, so we would want to be there when research facilities were open. I also noticed your pioneer families of Hardin County group...........I'm sure we qualify for that group, and would like more information about that, also. As you noticed, Susan's married name is KELLEY...........we don't know if she is any relation to you....her husband, Edward, is from the Marshall County area in Indiana. Maybe you have found a new cousin! Thanks for your help,

I'm looking for information about my great grandfather Elliott BAILEY'S family. He was born in Taylor Creek Township, Hardin County in 1835. His mother was Harriett PYLE?? BAILEY, and his father was named either Silas or Hiram BAILEY. Elliott was married to Martha EVANS, who died in 1858, then he married Caroline ROTH. I have found him on the 1850 and 1860 censuses in Taylor Creek twp. I can't find him on the 1870 census. He moved to Indiana in 1871. 1) I would like to know more about Elliott's parents. 2) I would like to know more about Elliott's brothers and sisters, all born in the 1830's and 1840's - Charles, Micah, Almira, Isaac?, Barzill or Bazel?, and Walter......and their descendants. 3) I would like to know more about Caroline ROTH'S family. 4) Does anyone have information about the BAILEY cemetary in Taylor Creek twp.?
