HAYS posted by Alice Gibbons on Saturday, January 29, 2000

A person who I believe to be the brother of my great grandfather Thomas Kirkland HAYS is listed as a guardian for Thomas and his sister Mary HAYS in an 1842 legal document filed in Logan County Ohio. That person is William O. HAYS. I suspect that he may he Thomas' older brother Oliver, but I am unable to verify that. Hence this quiry. Who was William O. HAYS. If my great grandfather Thomas Kirkland HAYS lived in Hardin County prior to his journey to California in 1850, he may have married and had two daughters there. I do not know their names. It is a fact that he lost his first wife and two daughters on the trail to California. Do you have any marriage and/or birth records re: Thomas Kirkland HAYS' wife and daughters? Thank you.
