DECKER, ENDICOTT, FULS, INDICOT, SIMPSON, SUMNER, WILLIAMS posted by Darleen Hardin Nave on Friday, October 3, 1997

Okay, This is the longest shot you will ever see tried, but I will try it anyway! Joseph WILLIAMS, according to the Fox-Williams book, abandoned? his family in Hardin Co Oh in 1866 and moved to Pottersville, Howell Co Mo, and on the 1870 census of Howell Co Mo was living with my g3grm Barsheba (SUMNER) INDICOT (ENDICOTT). I have not found their marriage record, which may not exist, if he was still married. He was awarded custody of Barsheba ENDICOTT's grandchildren when her son died. Many court house records Howell Co Mo, including Joseph WILLIAMS and "wife Barsheba" who donated land for religious purposes late 1880's. Believe he is the Joseph WILLIAMS b 1810 buried at Pottersville Cemetery, Howell Co, Mo. Nearby is his brother Jonathan WILLIAMS, b abt 1813, who moved to Howell Co Mo abt 1882, and later Jonathan's daughter Henrietta WILLIAMS who had md Samuel FULS. Jonathan WILLIAMS will probated 1894 Howell Co MO mentions David WILLIAMS and Derius WILLIAMS. Back to Joseph WILLIAMS and wife Jerusha DECKER @1810 NY-1879 Hardin Co Oh. Their children Mary Ann, Cornelius, James Wesley, Henrietta, Ithemore G, Simeon, Melvina, Charlotte, Elizabeth Ellen, according to the Fox Williams book. The Fox Williams book also says the parents of Joseph WILLIAMS and Jonathan WILLIAMS were James WILLIAMS and Mary (SIMPSON) WILLIAMS. Their Grandfather, "Rev WILLIAMS" came from Wales. My Query is; can any WILLIAMS researcher of Hardin Co Oh confirm/deny/provide any additional information on Joseph WILLIAMS abandonment of his Hardin Co Oh family and why he would have moved to Howell Co Mo. One of my many ENDICOTT mysteries.
