BRYANT, JOHNSON posted by Dave Johnson on Saturday, November 6, 1999

My gr gr grandfather, Sylvester W. JOHNSON moved with his wife Emily BRYANT JOHNSON and 7 children to Ada, Ohio in 1877. The children were: Mary (1857) Hiram (1858) James (1861) Laura (1865) David (1867) Violet(1870) Cora (1872) Charles (1875) If memory serves me correctly, Ada was founded in 1853, making it a village only 16 years old when he moved there. Wondering what types of industry would have attracted him there. I know from records that he had worked at a barrel stave factory in Van Wert shortly after the Civil War and he lost a thumb there. Thank you

SNYDER, SPARKS posted by Danna Michel on Saturday, November 6, 1999

Help! I was given names by a friend who is trying to research the SNYDER Family. The SNYDER family lived in Roundhead from at least 1823 to 1834. Their names were Adam and Ann SPARKS SNYDER. Adam served in the War of 1812. Six children of theirs were born in Roundhead. I spent several hours at Ohio Historical Society with the librarian's help... we could't find any records of them. Does anyone have any ideas or old birth records. Please let me know. Thanks!!!
