I am seeking information on my ggrandparents and gggrandparents, Wilford PISEL & Mary Matilda ROCKWELL and Washington PISEL and Mary Jane NAUS. I do know that Mary Janes's father was Solomon NAUS who came to Ohio from PA. in 1848. Solomon was married first to Willmina MCELDOWNEY. They had 13 children, 4 boys and 9 girls. He then married Ruth GILMORE and they had 7 children.I have a copy of Solomon's obituary. I am fairy certain that they lived in the Forest, Ohio area. I am interested in making a connection with anyone who may have a family connection to my family. My grandmother Mildred PISEL married Avery PARSELL. They lived in rural Wyandot Co. Their oldest child was my mother Hazel Yvonne PARSELL.

I am a descendant of Uriah BALDWIN of Mt. Victory. I have two obituaries from the local newspapers. One of Uriah and one of his daughter Inez who was a teacher in the county. Uriah died 1905 and Inez 1940. I would like to contribute this information to the website. For the past 2+ years that I have been tracing my family, I seem to be the only one interested in this particular line. By posting this information, it may attract family members of which I am not aware. Please let me know. Thank you.

Searching for Edwin TENNERY and was told that there was an Edwin TENNERY in your 1900 census. Please inform and we would be very grateful. Rita and Rae TENNERY, 14 Hadley Woodland, Mooresville, IN 46158 rsrbten@worldnet.att.net. Thanks, Rita T. RAE is my husband. His grandfather, son of Edwin didn't like the name RAYMOND, so he changed the spelling to RAE. My husband, being the oldest grandson, was given the name RAE with the Old Scotch spelling. Just FYI.

Uriah BALDWIN Obituary: Uriah BALDWIN, whose serious illness was reported up to press time last wednesday, yielded to that inevitable that evening(2/8/1905). By his death, Hale township and Hardin County lose one of their foremost pioneers. He was a man who came here before his teens and "has truly growed up with the county". History credits him with being the builder of the first house in Ridgeway. That house stood where the James EATON residence now stands, on the west side of Main St. Mr. BALDWIN and his family lived there for six years and then purchased a farm of 122 acres, two miles west of Mt. Victory. In later years he errected a fine brick residence on the farm on which he resided for 64 years. At times he added to his estate and lived to become one of the wealthiest farmers of the country. He was the son of Daniel and Hannah (WILLIAMS) BALDWIN and was born in Champaign Co. 5/30/1824. In 1935, he moved with his parents to Hale Township, Hardin Co., where he resided until his death. He was united in marriage to Hannah L. SNODDY 9/5/1848. His wife died 1/13/1902. They had several children: Abner, Lena, Parker, Inez, George, Clark, Joan,Nettie, Daniel, Blanche, Beulah. Mr. Baldwin served in the Civil War ( 135th O.V.I.). He was a charter member of the Methodist Episcopal church. He will be buried in Hale Cemetery.

In the mid to late 1800's my great-grandfather Cyrus S. HUNTER of Carey, Ohio married a Minerva Anna YENTZER and I have been searching for the name YENTZER to help track my past and found none. Going through some old Chief-Union newspapers I found a Charles YENTZER of Kenton died in 1973. I was hoping this could shed some light on me dilemma but I found no YENTZER on you site. This is what I have on them, Charles was born Sep. 24, 1889 married Nellie HOTELLING 1907(she died 1959). He was the son of George and Flora (WOOD) YENTZER. I'm hoping with your expertise some light can be shed on this. Thank you much,

Glen was adopted by Charles A. and Treece (PUMMEL) COZAD, about 1917-1920, in Kenton, Hardin County, Ohio; Variations in spelling of first name include Glennard and Glenn, after his Parents, whose Surname may be STUMP, or STUMPF, died in the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918; supposedly, the adoption records were "sealed," but Dad visited Hardin Co. court house in 1960's, to obtain a birth certificate, and received one, because it was needed for Social Security. Are there any records available in county courthouse? This info is needed for genetic information and all parties (Glenn, Charles and Treece, familiar for Patricia, as well as burial location of the STUMPS(STUMPF), if that surname is correct: family lore says Glenn had two other brothers, and the youngest was buried with his natural mother; older brother and his father were buried in same cemetary, but in separate graves; death records are a mess in Hardin co., because of number who died in epidemic (Glenn's dad may have been a Native American (Wyandot);adoptive placement was made by natural aunt, Icey MOREY, whose husband was a Hardin Co. physician, nicknamed "Doc" Icey died in San Jose, California: Doc is buried in Hardin Co.(where?); Treece' brother, Art PUMMEL, was famous as a violinist in Hardin Co. and buried there

Information in the censuses is inconsistent but Casper was probably born about 1804 in Hesse Cassel. I think his daughter Mary (born c1847) married my ancestor Benedict HELBLING.
